  • Well if that is ALL he's consuming, and I still doubt it, he's not going to be fueling as best as he could be and his performance will be suffering. Guess if he keeps winning he won't care.

I'm sure he's eating well prior to the races, but in the race he's getting a good assortment of nutrients. high amounts of protein and carbs and sugars. while i guess he could be getting more refined in supplements it seems to work pretty well.

i tend to eat a large vegan dinner the night before i race and a pretty good breakfast. usually pretty fatty in the morning. a lot of the racers i talk too (whch menas theyre a little less pretentious because most riders don't talk to the shitty punk kid riding in knickers and a t shirt) have a similar eating rutine, but they tend to eat more of the goo shit and energy block things. but i know at the end of the race i have a tendancy to feel a little better, even if i don't finish top 10. on top of that i also usually have to rie my bike home after the race.

  • I hope he's degassing the pepsi. It still comes down to "whatever works for you" but I'd hope he's at least tried alternatives to pepsi and snickers. Man, I'm a sweet tooth but I kill for real food in 24hr races (team only, no solo sickness).

  • three syringe fulls of epo for breky

    Fixed.

  • this stuff is the shizzle:

579kcal, per 100g and a fair bit of protein too.

Ive found only suma & meridian offer pure nut ingredients. All others including 'whole earth organic' etc all contain salt & palm oil etc

  • can't see it.

  • Its a 1kg tub of meridian peanut butter, the kind I buy.

  • Check Michael Phelps incredible diet:

Im working my way up to something similar.

  • I went for probably my longest ride to date on Sunday with a local club covering a total of 37.5 miles with a puncture stop and a cafe break. I had 2 teas before I set out, 2 teas at the cafe and nothing else i.e. no food nor a water bottle on the bike.
My only issue was towards the end of the ride when particularly my left (weaker) leg started feeling tired.
Yesterday and this morning, however, I've been really hungry. Much more than usual. Does this sound about right?
I probably should have taken a bit of food and a drink with me and, Tommy, I spotted dried, sliced bananas in Lidl's the other day.

  • yeah with that output of energy your glycogen stores will have been caned down, plus dehydration-although that wont have been bad in cooler weather.
chyawanprash is good-toughens you up from deep within.
    ayurveda ftw

  • Tell me more about this chyawanprash, sounds great?

  • its mainly Amla fruit, with secret herbs added in the ancient Ayurvedic tradition,

(Im liking cake for all energy needs at the mo though)

thats me, floating around some Indian gooseberries

  • I thought that was you...I said to myself 'That's him'

  • Fucking loads of food threads so closed my eyes and picked one.

Want to know: been cycling much more the last month and a bit, and accordingly my metabolism has gone off the charts i.e fucking starving all the time, when its cold and everyone else in sweaters and full trou i'm trotting about in shorts and t-shirt. This is pretty normal for me when i exercise, and I'm not saying it's abnormal or anything, it makes sense. but.

when the fuck does this even out or is this just me being a freak (i ask this as if I do any kind of physical jobs or whatever I build up muscle super rapid, but can lose weight really quick too. I'm not skinny though which is the thing.) or just a greedy shite?

I feel like jeff goldblum in The Fly and like I need to stop eating so much cake and coffee... Or is this just the silver lining to consistent 300km+ riding in a week and I just need to scoff and be happy?

    Need some science please.

I already stuck some magnets up my anus as someone I know said they got some really good Chi from reverse genetic polarity fields... so I took this literally and took them off an old pair of speakers I had, but its getting really annoying trailing the cables around everywhere. Plus i seem to be attracting all the wrong sorts of people as a result... so i rang this guy up to ask him about it and it turned out Chi was actually a bodybuilder from Shanghai and that reverse genetic polarity is actually a new aftershave from Gaultier. I would laugh if my sphincter wasn't so raw.
