It's pretty much like Peru, the government in Peru were bribed by Japanese companies to let them overfish as much anchovies as they can without the law getting in the way (they have law to prevent overfishing of anchovies, but it being a 3rd world country, it's open to bribe sadly).
The worse thing is, chance are the Japanese company will cause the extinction of the anchovies in Peru, just because of mankind's fucking greed.
The fishing industry in Lima, Peru, over 10,000 strong protested to the government about it, they went to the outside of the government building to protest about them letting the Japanese businesses coming over and pushing the local one out and the next day, it was everywhere
But the next day, there's nothing about it in the newspaper, TV, or even the radio, why? because the government censored it, in order to keep recieving the bribe money from the Japanese companies.
Also, as that happen, quite a lots of the small local fishing companies in Peru suddenly now 'own' the government millions of dollars in debt.
That sort of shit happen everywhere, so yes, I'm going to support the Sea Shepherds.
