  • I am insured with cycleguard but their policy is rubbish really. They base everything on the frame - not on the parts. I have several bikes, frames are all old from ebay, various sources, re-sprayed, etc. Parts are mostly new and of much higher value. So the frame is on average 300 quid, parts up to 800 or more. And they don't seem to cover removable parts (well everything is removable) neither scratches to the paint job, etc.
(so what do they actually cover, the bare steel tubing of a new frame?)

This really only applies to your average off the shelf complete bike. So the only bike I can have under their insurance is my Condor which i bought more less complete. But no chance on my other much more valuable bikes that are all custom build.

Anyone knows any better insurances that cover bikes/parts not based just on the frame?
