I find I get less pressure when riding in the drops that I do when riding flat bars. The body doesn't feel like it needs to be held up.
Saying that, those drops look too low for me and the saddle is pointing down which is asking for trouble (unless the drop part of the bar never gets used...)

Riding the tops, I slouch forward adding weight to my hands.
Riding the drops, I shift my bum back on the saddle and weight the pedals more, removing weight from the hands.
Might just have a crap position on the flats though (+ trackish seat tube angle).
