I think it's more friendly advice like - I wouldn't want them to put it on eBay or somewhere and be disappointed.
Definitely split though - I have the same bike, but the 1955 version, with a similar spec (except for the wheels), and I don't think I'd get that kind of money for mine - not even half that. When you're dealing with vintage lightweights like that, you're dealing with a very specific market, so people who want the Phil wheels probably won't want the vintage frame, and vice versa.
