• Yeah I'm doing this year on my fixed commuter.

    This guy really is though.

  • Burst water-main on Southend Lane, near the Lidl's, is a 20 metre ice-rink. I went across it and prayed to Tynan.

I heard you child, I don't want to break any divine NDAs but let me just say you should get an extra scratch card on Saturday when you are getting your fags, bread and milk.

  • Urgh. Apparently we're in for another 10 inches before the weekend. Urgh. I'm already sore all over from falling off (though there was a comedy 10 yard sliiiiiiiide on South Lambeth Road this morning) and from the extra tension of trying to keep the bike upright and look out for ice all day. On the plus side though, everyone else seems to be hiding under their duvets this week, so I'm making more money than I have since November. Still, urgh.

  • No snow coming to London.

  • Emilia; you have entered the Pantheon.

  • Emilia; you have entered the Pantheon.

Not really. I wasn't out on Monday. Spoke to a couple of super-hard chaps today who were, and felt unworthy.

  • Well, a super hard chap is good to find. I was at home of course.

  • i made a bhig ugly head. woo.

  • I like it. Well done.

  • Today was my first day back as well. On reflection it wasn't really essential that I took yesterday off, I just felt like skiving. In central London almost everywhere is completely fine now, but outside the center the side streets are still pretty dodgy.

  • No snow coming to London.

Someone was throwing cold cocaine at me on my way back from polo this evening then...

    Yep it's snowing again! Woop!

    :-)

  • As long as it's completely buggered off by friday i'll be happy, airport better not be closed again

  • The forecast where I live is heavy snow, the forecast in Barking (where I work) is heavy rain.

How am I going to explain this one?

  • snowing again, woop woop
    third day off this week

  • So I have survived snow and ice all week. Moronic bus drivers, agressive motorcyclists and absent minded pedestrians have failed to hurt me. Even the occasional hi-vis nodder performing curious and unsignaled manoeuvers has not unsaddled me.

Get to work this morning. Dismount and open side (pedestrian) door to the undeground car park. Get through it. Place bike on ground. Slip over.

Arse a bloodied and grazed mess (luckily tights seem ok) but worse than that, landed on bike and my vast bulk has buckled my rear wheel.

    What a Prat.

  • Another top winter tip

If you have recently swapped your eggbeater cleats for quattros, to take another bike out for a spin. Swap them back before it starts snowing again. I very nearly got to view the underside of a lorry in motion this morning. Lazy tit that I am.

    Quattro cleats = snow fail!

  • Hooray, at least three people have managed snow fuckwittery this morning. If you go to the effort of clearing the snow off your windows and roof of your car, you really should clear the snow off your lights so that people can see where you're signalling.

  • I thought the drivers on Tues seemed to be driving alot slower than normal, was almost a pleasure to cycle, of course back to their normal yesterday couldn't give a fuck driving .

  • It has a pleasant (save for the wet arse) slow ride in this morning. Um.. that is all.

  • It was a lovely ride this morning. I always love the rain, and todays' sploshy kind is the best. No wind ftw.

  • I bottled it today, couldn't face getting a cold, wet arse again... Did about 45-50 miles yesterday, which is a bit of a record for me... Much fun!

  • Nice job Bavski!

Not sure about lovely, but it felt good to be on the bike again. I wanted to shout at everyone without mudguards...mine work a treat.

Not sure about 10 inches but the Met Office seem to think there's going to be snow on Friday night and possibly Monday night.
