Only my opinion, but 850 sounded fair to me.

Mercian with original paint and chrome.
Original campy parts.
Vintage cinelli track drops.
Brand new almost unused phil woods to deep v's.

Sell all that seperately and you'll easy get £850+

You should definitely part it out - far more money in it. To sell it complete narrows the market down massively to someone who wants that size/style frame and either appreciates the parts or doesn't mind the hassle of strippling and then selling off what they don't want. I think that's probably why it was suggested that £850 was high when in reality it just means it might be difficult to find a buyer.

On that note, how much for the frame? ;-)

I think it's more friendly advice like - I wouldn't want them to put it on eBay or somewhere and be disappointed.

Definitely split though - I have the same bike, but the 1955 version, with a similar spec (except for the wheels), and I don't think I'd get that kind of money for mine - not even half that. When you're dealing with vintage lightweights like that, you're dealing with a very specific market, so people who want the Phil wheels probably won't want the vintage frame, and vice versa.

Scott I love it and agree with what you say, I think that this For Sale section is just becoming a Flaming post for people who think that their opinions in any way count and that people actually give a shit what they think about other peoples bikes. In short, you like it buy it, you don't, or you think its overpriced, shut the fuck up.
