Apparently a bit OT at the moment... but I have a drink serving-related hate, too.
Paid some ridiculous amount for 3 pints of Peroni at the Grand Union on Upper St (not my normal kind of place, was meeting friends). The beer was pretty flat and so didn't form a head. Asked the barperson for a top-up as there was about a cm missing from the top of each glass and she refused, pointing out the "1 pint to this line" marking.
Correct under EU law, of course, but not great service, particularly as the problem is completely avoidable and either her fault (the pour) or the establishment's fault (the gas). And given the margins on a 4 quid pint, you're not going to go bankrupt on a couple of extra ml, are you...??
