get 19mm tyres could solve the clearance issue
i don't think the geo of the bike would be best suited to a front 650 ?
wouldn't it put the front forks out of synch -

Are you aware of all the different wheel rim diameters you can go for? SJS list their rims by ISO in mm, which is very handy... I'm currently trying to build a bit of an odd sized wheel and didn't want to go straight for 24 inchers.

(Look in the rim list to the left, diameter in mm in brackets.) -

dicki thanks for the idea of 19mm tyres, I might try that. I get lots of dirt etc, sticking to my clamp-on brake and between my wheel, which makes lots of noise and makes me nervous when cycling.
Dear small brown bike, thanks for the offer of lending me a 650 wheel, if you don't mind I would like to try it out and see what I think of it.
hey
I am wanting to build a 650 front wheel. I have a miche large flange hub 36 h. I am wondering where I can buy a 650 size rim and would I be able to get spokes at right size according to spocalc calculations. Just wanted to fire this out, I have been searching for a 650 rim, at moment I cannot find that.
The reason for wanting this wheel is that I have a njs frame with tight clearance, which is great, but sometimes I would like more clearance and a lower profile might be a bonus too.
Or if anyone has a cheapish 650 front wheel complete to sell, do let me know ok.
