everyones fave spanish goatee wearing manager

  • Hi chaps

This might sound like a really stupid question

I'm toying with the idea of getting some of those rather natty Rapha fixed shorts, but am a bit unsure about whether you wear them with lycra shorts / a liner underneath, or do you go commando

Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Furthermore, are there any other similar shorts on the market that aren't quite so eye-wateringly expensive?

Thanks in advance for any advice

  • I got some for free and have worn them a couple of times; over trunks-style underwear. The minimal padding in them is fine for a commute, and doesn't feel too much like a sanitary towel at work.

They're not something I'd wear for 'proper' riding.

  • do you know how to wear trouser? same logic.

    if you barely can afford Rapha, I must recommended Swrve, their stuff is also great;

  • Pink tights and Fame-style leg-warmers FTW...

  • Right here's where you start paying for Rapha... in sweat.

  • Long socks in cold weather, short socks in warm weather.

  • buy cheap trousers, cut them down , wear cheap cycling shorts underneath, save £££££££s

  • That is so straight.

  • Great advice, thanks!

Think I'll go for wearing the trunk undies underneath, this would be for a 30 min ish ride to somewhere where I wanted to look a bit presentable (rather than turning up in lycra and feeling like a proper charlie)

I really like the look of the Swrve stuff, might give their herringbone shorts a try!

  • Swrve are a lots cheaper yet very efficent too, got their riding hoodie a while ago, it's fantastic.

  • +1 to the mr scoble, been wearing the herringbone 3/4 for a while now and reckon they meet all your requirements. I ride 10 miles to a meeting in absolute comfort yet look presentable when I get there...cardigan over an icebreaker base layer FTW!

  • Just got a pre-press-release-email thing:
