Hi waffle, the brakes, derailers and shifters have just been sold.
i cant remember how yu measure it, but i think it is 70mm, this is from the centre of the bolt which fixes to the frame, to the brake pad bolt.
if that makes any sense!!cheers

Don't quote me on this, but you'll most likely need specific biopace cranks and they're for road (i.e. 3/32") as they won't work properly fixed due to the changes in chain tension.

mmmm, i dont really know what that is. is it something to do with the chain size? if so my Sram mtb chain fits it nicelly, if you can describe to me how to measure it then i will.

hmm. or reading on sheldon, maybe it would be ok...
"
Biopace and Fixed Gear
People are often astonished to learn that I ride Biopace chainrings on fixed-gear bikes. They imagine that there will be tremendous changes in chain tension as the chainring rotates. In practice, this is not the case. A 42 tooth chainring will generally engage 21 teeth against 21 chain rollers, regardless of its shape. There is a slight variation in tension resulting from the varying angle between the two straight runs of chain as the axis of the chainring rotates, but this has not generally been of a sufficient magnitude to cause any problem in practice for me."
but i'm still not risking it

history...
Alrighty there guys, few more bits from my parts box.
would like it if the brakes, derailer and shifters went together but will split.
Brakes are STAR, front is aluminum, rear is steel or iron. shifters and derailer are Simplex. A bit mucky but will clean up. from the late 70,s.
