What bike is it, Bristly? Also that bike with the twin top tubes and flat mudgaurds was really nice.
I missed the gin too - too busy smokin cheroots outside.
It's a REALLY old Dawed Dominate:

I got it with gears, but the rear wheel was a flip flop hub, 4 spd on one side and track threads on the other. So it was a very simple convert.

Check out Adam Scott's photo's of the run on the Flickr page, taken with square format Yashica on film.... they are fantastic.
Also noticed an almost complete lack of CARS in all the photo's in the complete album...... would be great if it were like that in the real world, as opposed to the world of tweed

Wooohoooo,. I'm online at last. Thanks to Teddy for organising and to everyone for such a good good day. My first ride out and me and the wife had an absolute blast...although the Warden (?) had to keep chasing Mrs L for being slow at the back of the bunch.
Lots of pics of me looking daft (no change there)...and some really great pics of the whole thing.
Cheers cheers cheers

Must have been DancingJames the mad sheep dog ;) Your Mrs was probably riding just ahead of me when we left Hyde Park when DancingJames was on top form and biting wheels.

Good people in Tweed,
Many of you fine and splendid folk would have seen my friend Steve having a little sit down on the Hackney Road after a spill. May I take this opportunity to update you on his progress.
Bearing in mind that he finished the run and then cycled home, Steve suffered deep bruising to his shoulder and left knee and broke the base of his femur!!
After this sterling effort he is now resting by a roaring fire, re-reading Jerome K Jerome and learning to play the banjo.
Thank you all again for your help and concern and special thanks to Andrew, the two fellows who righted his Bob Jackson and to the delightful lady who gave him her water. -

Feck! I'd heard there was a spill.
It all got a bit mental on the way to Tour De Ville.
Heal up well Steve.

Ouch! That happened just behind me and I thought he had just winded himself. I think it was Jacqui who looked after him on the way to Tour de Ville.
Hope he heals up well and I'm glad he's using the time to develop some develop some suitablly gentleman like habits.

It sounds as if Steve's injuries are very serious. From your description, it sounds as if he's managing to keep his spirits up. All the best wishes to him for his recovery!

Heal up Steave. I think the Andrew in question is Corny. He seemed to have it all in order so I carried on leading the group to Tour de Ville.
