HH date for the diary

  • I can't see it advertised but I presume that the Good Friday meet will be on at Herne Hill this year.

If so, it'll be on 10 April. See you there!

  • it's on alright.

    hope the weather is dry!

  • I'm going to race it! Though I haven't sent in an entry yet so I could still get rejected.

Another HH date for the diary is 7th of March, which is when Saturday morning training is due to start (weather dependent obviously).

  • I imagine there will be a queue of inductees that stretches all the way to ealing

  • According to the VCL site, this is the SCCU Good Friday Meeting.

Whats that then? Can we all take part, there isn't much info, as usual on the site

  • I guess that's Southern Counties Cycling Union, but yeah anyone can enter. British riders will need a BC license. Entries are subject to vetting by the organizer. People do get their entries returned if they're deemed not good enough. I'm pretty sure the criteria is subjective, but it's got to be largely based on license points I guess.

And I hear a nice new Herne Hill website should be up and running in time for the start of the season. Any requests?

  • Looking forward to the 7th.

Riding, yes, but more, seeing how they cope with the massive demand.

  • Yeah I think there's going to be a bit of a change to the session schedules. Not sure what the final plan is though. I wasn't around last yeah, but I heard it got a bit crazy!

  • ... and here's the official site http://www.goodfridaymeeting.org.uk/

  • ohh I see. Thanks for the info JC. I have zero license points and am yet to race in the B league at HH so I guess, I will be one of the rejects. Never mind. I will do the omniums (spelling?) instead

  • Yeah do it. TBH as an average track racer, Good Friday isn't the best of meetings cos you'll only get a few rides for your £15. Its just the prestige of it that makes it good. The omniums will get you more rides - and gives you a bit longer to train, I'm starting to realise that 2 and a half months isn't a very long time!

Also, I haven't raced for a few years now, so I also have zero license points, but I'm hoping to be let in on the subjective selection criteria, since I raced it when I was a junior. Not sure if I'm any better now though...

  • A new HH website? Cool - they could do with one.

Who's doing it? I'd like to let the Dulwich Paragonistas (of which I am one) know about dates, times at the track.
