A proper investigation of this really *does *need to be carried out. To make sure it isn't an intermittent problem, you need to keep a record of what's going on. I suggest you start stockpiling the water in containers so that the proper authorities can make their own assessment of the problem - tests will need to be carried out on **each **container. You may think it's easier to do this is large containers for convenience (e.g. a bucket, washing up bowl, dog) but smaller containers will give better accuracy. Label each container. If no-one has contacted you about the problem within 5 days, continue to collect the water.
