I wish to thank Ted and all the other organizers for letting me know about this great event. I've been now involved in many events as Brooks marketing manager, including the now famous Eroica ride in Tuscany and the Brompton World Championships.
I think the Tweed Run has a potential to outclass them all!
By the way who are the lucky winners of the prizes?
Andrea
I was lucky enough to be chosen for the for the best moustache, and also won a raffle prize down at the working men's club! I was well chuffed as I never win anything usually! have some lovely brown leather bar tape for cinelli drops now - thanks for the prizes - I actually won two of the beard trimming kits, so I was able to give one away to the person I thought should have won the moustache comp - the bag superprecise won looked amazing as well.
I had an absolutely smashing day, and the photos people took are doing some work to convince my better half to join us for the next ride!

Also, Charco could we have another run of the spoke cards please? I'd be more than happy to donate to a little bit more to charity and would love another memento.. From what I hear there are quite a few of us looking for spoke cards ;)
No problem. I'm currently doing up another 30 right now. These won't need sponsorship so will feature pineapples on the inside. I'll be at souths tomo. SE Beers tuesday & if Pinkgottimobbs shows up early i'll follow him up to north drinks. Should also make easts this weeks too, so i'll keep them in my bag.

Chaps and Chapesses
I thoroughly appreciated the sartorial elegance demonstrated by those on the ride.
I was rather shocked though by others on the road, wearing frightfully revealing, lurid, tight fitting outfits and had to enquire of these people what the blazes they were wearing.
It was the skin of dead Lycras. I was not aware such beasties existed, though believe we must now start a campaign to protect them. None of my agricultural rural friends have ever mentioned them before, so clearly they are not pests akin to a fox or wild boar.
Any further rides should be organised to raise awareness of the fate of these poor animals, clearly being slaughtered in droves to satisfy these cads who wish to race in an unbecoming fashion.
In memory of ononetweedster I believe "Tally Ho-Mo" ought to be the greeting for other tweedsters.

it looks like it was completely spiffing...I didn't make it as I was off out hunting those pesky lycras, we'll have them extinct soon!
Especially think it's nice that so many non-regular forum members came out to play.
And does anyone remember the Monopoly ride, about this time last year? That was drenched and cold but also fantastic. We do good rides, people - let's keep it up! Happy days x -

Mr Mobidog Sir, you are a true gent and deserved both prizes, and an extra one for representing everything that the ride was about, class, style and generosity.
Thanks so much for the grooming kit, will definitely be put to good use.

Thank you Brooks! I was the winner of the delightful Barbican Messenger Bag. The sheer quality and refined appearance of it means that I will be shunning the lure of ebay and sporting it at the earlier possible opportunity. the aesthetes will be pleased to know that the beige strap exactly matches the hue of my favoured tweed jacket and the splendid leather details compliment my belt, my shoes and of course my black leather Brooks B17 bicycle saddle.
By far the best thing i have ever won, a real treat. Thanks everyone.
