You might be right actually. On closer inspection the finish looks shit.

it's possible to polish it like that, look at the velocity deep v polished rims, they're quite shiny as it is, but polish it a bit further with proper... polishing equipment really, and you´d get close to a mirror finish.

After all that, it's a conversion... They even left the derailleur hanger on and everything.
