C4 Action Sports thing did a whole show about the Atherton family on Sunday morning.

I say blame the music.

She was listening to AC/DC.

Shame shes decided to never ride a road bike again. Hit the street for the first time on a carbon cervelo, pump away with your head down and music blasting away in your ears while not paying attention to which side of the road your on. Youve got to think it was inevitable somehow.

have to agree, the first time I rode a new road bike (used to only ride a late 70s peugeot), it was soo much quicker than my mountain bike and my old racer, I was terrified. Wouldn't want to ride a TT bike for a first go.

I'm glad the second article gave me the details about whether she was wearing a helmet. I was scouring the first article for this vital piece of information without which I would have no interest in the story whatsoever. [/sarcasm]

She probably swerved the wrong way cos she's used to cars driving on the left and so she went the same way as the truck. Saw it happen at an alleycat in dublin with some guys from NYC racing, so using the power of generalisation I would say that's definitely what happened.
