just been out for a ride in my tweed outfit, to see how biking in tweed is.
*some thoughts on a gentleman's first bicycle outing in tweed. *
tweed is impressively warm
tweed is also surprisingly itchy
bicycling in brogues is not as easy as in trainers
automobiles are more polite and much less aggressive towards you when you're in tweed
it's nice to put a smile on people's faces
Ha hahaha
I saw a friend last night, a stylish young thing who works at Margaret Howell. I'd just been telling her all about this ride, and about the excellent LumaTwill stuff, and whatnot. She was extremely interested, but quite sceptical that anyone is actually really wearing tweed.
20 mins after she left I got a call, she'd just seen you at Shoreditch church - I imagine she may have been one of the people who smiled at you. She said you looked WONDERFUL and I think she wanted to eat you all up! She was ecstatic. I hope she'll come along tomorrow, she does Menswaer Production and I've been bugging her for ages to try and get the detailing on some things bike friendly - roll up button and tab on the leg perhaps, or drop tailed jackets.
