Can anyone help me, by knowing anything about this version of the Turbo saddle.....it has perforations....I am getting it from Paul at Freshtripe...and he has told me it is NOS and dates from the mid 1990s

I have tried to look it up on Google...but to no avail.....

So any information will be appreciated....cheers.

  • What do you want to know?
    it's a saddle, my guess is 1990ish

  • Strange use of English- a turbo-charger is a method of creating forced induction, as is supercharging.

Forced Ventilation sounds like a translation error, but is probably a cunning joke.

No help I know, I shall fetch my coat.

It is indeed a saddle and i already knew it was 1990s......[i mentioned that]

But purpose of the forced ventilation?...Weight?....Who would have used it?.....If peeps have used one....perceived comfort level?.....Why is so little known about them compared to other Turbo saddles

A case of english as used by someone in Italy, for whom English is not their first, second or probably third language......so such usage can and does occur, i suppose.

  • ahh ok.
There were a lot of variations of the turbo saddle, as well as the couple listed on velobase, there was the bernard hainault editions, the later turbo-gel, the bio-turbo models (lycra covers), the super-turbo... etc.

  • probably to keep your arse cooler on longer rides

Fine in summer but not necessarily a good thing in 'cooler' weather.....like last week.....then one would need a welder and or a crow bar to prize ones nether end from the saddle!

  • yer but if your riding a long road race in the summer im sure a nice breezey bum would be fabulous
