Yoghurt, especially sweet stuff works the best. Or just eat more Rice/bread/potato - whatever carb you were eating it with.
Pickled chilli's are so not hot though!
You gotta try Bengali Naga, they are small and green relation to a scotch bonnet but about 15x more fiery. They are native to northern india/bangladesh/assam. Theres a few different types but the bengali one is commonly available in bengali grocery shops in th UK. Cost you about 10p each, the hottest chilli in the world. If you grow your own they come out even hotter.

They only usually pickle large chillies. Large = weak.
They do add birds eye chillies in some pickles (usually a pick of something else i.e lime or mango) Birds eyes are pretty hot (as they are small) but no where near a naga. Go try one, its fun.

yeah salt is meant to work, theyre big on having finger bowls with salt in mexico for this purpose. i never got on with it though, putting a quantity of plain salt in my mouth makes me want to wretch.

Yeah was the black one I had and a crazy Mexican who gave it to me. Love the chilli and this was by far the hottest thing I've ever tried and a different type of hot to all the raw chillis i've tried.

The day after a good chilli session (or dodgy curry) when the burning sensation has moved all the way along to the other end of the digestive system, I find a good buggering with a mini milk lolly soothes the pain and discomfort

olive oil- works
milk/ yoghurt- works obv
