If you do have to get it powercoated, make sure you add glitter to get those metallic look.

aloha everyone!
my name is seth, im from honolulu, hawaii. (just signed up so i can only post in existing threads, so i've chosen this one!)i am coming up to York at the end of January and will be there until mid-May. Anyone aware of some nice kids who ride around there?? Delta Airlines is threatening to charge me $300 each way to bring my bike so I dont think I'm gonna be able to make that work... would love to pick up a beater to have fun on for a few months.
time to go shopping for some warm clothing!!!
What brings you to york mate? I live/ ride in york for most of the year, but absolutely no idea how many others there are, but york is very bike friendly if you ignore the pot holes, but still better than london i guess.

mate just take off almost every single part of your bike and try and put them in a big suitcase, best you'll just get charge for extra suitcase for travelling.

I was thinking about getting the frame powder coated as well (white). That would be the summer treat.
if you must, you could always powercoated half the frame for a classic appearance, like those;

Interesting. Liking the idea of the metal flake white, I might have to look into that. However phasergunalex did have a point. There are an awful lot of white bikes around – although perhaps maybe more chrome Binachis! Oh the dilema. I'll see how I feel about it once the seasons change. Those Acne Pistas are nice though, especially for the ladies.

As I'm hoping to meet a few of you on Saturday I thought I'd get my fizzog on here.
I'll probably leave the sprog at home, haven't time to fit my panniers.Bob.

Are you in the halls in Tooting, Welham Road? In the tower? Those doors look incredibly familiar. I was there in '92. Looks like they haven't redecorated since.
Hey buddy, yeah i am in furzedown, its pretty shit, the place is falling down.
Were you rinding then? how did you find the mammoth hills? they kill me.

You got that frame for free?!
Other than the crankset everything else looks quite good...yeah got it off a mate he was using it as a regular road bike and buckled the front wheel and wanted shot of it,
my mate from the bike shop said coz its a 70s french road bike he didnt really want to take the cranks off in case they were all fucked up and he threaded it to shit, probs wait til ive got some back up cash or a spare frame before i get down and dirty with the cranks,
any previous expertise from anyone whos been in a similar situation would be good

Not posted in here for a while, so here's the week day bike in all its 'glory'.
Note the oh so special M&S bag discretely hidden under the saddle, for those Paul Mitchel Moments, the direguer *Off White *tyres and saddle combo and the silly brake lever position.
Sorry about my wooden countenance in the photo, I was having a bad day, but at least my uniform matches the bike. Sort of.

he is duncan though.
Did I miss something Dogs??
Don't spray the frame white, everyone seems to be spraying stuff white these days. I do really like the chrome and black look....you see far less like that, whereas i've lost count of the amount of white bikes with black bits!
