Aesthetics. Simplicity of the ride. Less to go wrong (less matinence). Perfect for speeding around London's busy streets. Climbing hills. Trackstanding at the lights - means I never have to put my foot down for my whole journey and always first off at the lights. They're just fun to ride....

Steep downhills. **Having to carry a lock that weighs a third of the weight of my bike to keep it secure. Getting correct chain tension. **
