i have a swallow - doesn't seem to be well liked/used here. it broke in relatively quickly with a few coats of proofhide. i think it is a great saddle and very comfortable, hopefully I'll have it for years to come

My Ti Swallow is fantastic, not worn in yet but hardly uncomfortable whilst doing so. Good shape and lovely quality. But for a brooks, my opinion would be to sit on a couple and find the one that fits your sit-bones and buy it, regardless of other considerations. Brooks are pretty much for life when you've broken them in, unless you're doing hours and hours on your bike every day.

I think it's actually how the brooks look on certain bike, like says on an modern frame (Charge Plug for instance), it just look somewhat wrong.

A deep sided one like a b17, I agree with you Ed, but I'm actually rather taken with the swallow on my charge racer frame.

The swallow look better due to it's low profile look unlike the B17 that look like it's only suited on a town bike.
the swift too can look great on a modern frame, my father have a black one on a silver Genesis road frame, look much better now.

more props for the brooks swallow, i've got two (one ti, one steel) and i love em both, my favorite brooks both aesthetically and comfort wise. for me they're the most comfortable out of the box and they break in fairly quickly. though many others i've seen do have a tendency for the sides to flair out as they age, if they're not kept at the proper tension.
i also think they have the most potential to look good on a modern-ish bike.
gogosama, depends on whether you want to follow fashion for the sake of it - like many on here - or do your own thing because you like it.
