Thanks for all your hard work on this, looks like it's going well.
Why not put a Paypal link for donations? (I'd happily donate if it helped successfully undertake a daunting build, etc.)
I'll take payment in form of blog and forum posts and general spreading-the-word. Maybe you could make a screencast on how easy it is to use. Once I have enough visitors I may choose to monetise (ads, link to a bike shop where you can order spokes) - but for the time being this is just my hobby and showcase of what I can do (I leave uni in ten months).

@efc: i can't find H+ rims or paul rear hubs :-(
-
• #79
Arup has measured h+'s ERD: 557mm. I would have entered it but I wasn't sure what size that is. 700c? 650?
I have never heard of paul hubs (although that means nothing). Have you got the measurements?

Righto, I have entered the following:
Paul Components Track, high flange, rear
Right flange ⌀: 65.0Left flange ⌀: 65.0 Centre to right flange: 32.5 Centre to left flange: 32.5 Spoke hole ⌀: 2.4
Now, the only thing I need to know is whether that H+ with erd 557 is 700 or 650.

thanks!
557 is the ERD for a 700c rim.

By the way what is the correct spelling for H+? "H + Son"? "H Plus Son"? "H+ Plus Son"?
-
• #85
?
H+ Son I guess

?
H+ Son I guess
It's now in the database too.

I was building some H Plus Son on Goldtec last week and was using your web app to work out lengths rather than Spocalc. I've put a link on my site too.

Would it be possible to add an double fixed high flange track phill hub?
And just a the regular high flange front, is that 'phill wood front' ?
Thanks, very helpful site! -

Have you got the measurements? You can submit them by clicking on the "submit measurements" link on the top right hand side.
The only Phil Wood track front one in the database has a flange diameter of 48mm, which is sorta small-ish. Again, if you have the measurements you can submit them.

So, I've been running that site for a while now but my Google rank is still crap. I'm at rank 52 for "spoke length calculator".
Are there any SEO experts about who could give me tips?
I have done the following to increase my ranking
- key meta tag in the header
- "spoke length calculator" in h1 tag
- posted the link on lots of cycling forums: bikeforum, ctc, bicyles.net.au
On the downside I have changed the original address to a shorter one and have used a 301 redirect to force the new URL. This seemed to have fucked up my pagerank. I have edited most forum posts to use the new URL and not the old one, but that didn't help very much. Do 301s affect pagerank or will it be carried over to the new URL?
- key meta tag in the header

I know pretty much dick about SEO, but just a quick word of thanks. I used edd to do my first ever set of spoke calculations in anger the other day and got them more or less spot on. Ta ever so! Please apply to me for a pint if you're ever at Easts or WHY.

Have you checked out the Google Webmaster tools? Loads of tips and advice there to help you along. You can also add the Google urchin tracker or the new one from Google Analytics. Let it run for a while to see where your traffic is coming from. Then update your meta tags. Don't forget the Google ageing delay.
I don't know a huge amount but it's 50% optimizing your site and 50% inbound links. You can also have a look at your server stats to see where traffic is coming from and what search strings are being used. Beware of the so called Black Hat methods as Google is wise to them and you could end up with a penalty and me struck off the list.

Yep, Google Analytics was there from day one.
Most traffic comes from this site, bikeforums and with a sizeable chunk it's direct bookmarks.

Today I finally found what caused the disparity (less than 0.8mm) between spocalc.xls and my little app and have corrected it.
Would you guys mind giving it a good old testing and see if they are all the same now? Link: http://lenni.info/edd/
If you notice any quirks just post back. Cheers.
Thanks for all your hard work on this, looks like it's going well.
