Names and faces to bikes

i am coming up to York at the end of January and will be there until mid-May. Anyone aware of some nice kids who ride around there?? Delta Airlines is threatening to charge me $300 each way to bring my bike so I dont think I'm gonna be able to make that work... would love to pick up a beater to have fun on for a few months.
