I saw a guy in Ken High St today just been knocked for six by a taxi. I stopped my van in the middle of the road (couldn't pull over, but some things are worth causing hold-ups for)
A witness came forward, and the taxi driver was bullying him, telling him to mind his own business. The rider was shaken up and young enough to not want to appear hurt, if that makes sense. Anyway, I advised him to get that witness, and to get to hospital for a check over. I offered to take him wherever he needed to go etc. I hope he takes that Taxi driver to the cleaners. I didn't see the accident, but I didn't like him bullying that witness.
As a van driver and a cyclist, it infuriates me when cyclists pull out without fucking looking over their fucking shoulders. If you do that you're going to get hurt one day. That's not be being a van-driving areshole, it's the law of probability. Motorcyclists have the 'life-saver' over-the-shoulder check drummed into us from day one, but I see far too few cyclist making these vital checks (no reflection on you Crane).
While I'm on one I don't understand cyclists who don't use lights.
And don't get me started on those bloody knogs. Sitting in the cab of a van, when it's raining, you cannot see those things, don't kid yourself if you rely on them to be seen...
