I didn't miss your point, it wasn't your point I was responding too. It was your statement "I wouldn't allow her to be exposed to that kind of celeb" - which isn't possible or desirable. I'm guessing your point is that, as parents, we should be providing our children with positive experiences and influences since, particularly once they are at school, they pick up on all sorts of stuff from friends/teachers/older kids/other parents/etc. This is what we have no control over, unless we utterly cocoon them, and who would want to do that?
I'm not sure what you mean by **"parents are the ones who script a child" **- it sounds controlling to me, but that could just be your choice of the word "script"? I want my kids to make their own choices, based on the broad range of experiences and influences they have throughout their lives. All I can do is ensure there are some good ones in the mix, and recognise the strength my influence as their father.
I admire you for bringing up your god daughter, that can't be easy - I don't mean that to sound patronising ;)
lol... trust me, its nothing to do with control... scripting meaning... taking a proactive role in what she is learning, watching etc... thats all.. she makes loads of her own choices, as I said, shes her own individual, her own unique self.... :]
thanks, its definitely challenging but equally rewarding...
