In my own narrow experience, bus drivers are the least likely to want to run you off your bike. As long as you make allowances for their crappy field of vision, they always seem to give plenty of space and don't try and cut you up.
if aproaching a bus stop and i hear or see a bus behind me i always move out another two or three feet from the edge of the curb. by doing this dummnut driver has to think twice about overtaking and then pulling in which is what they do 98 % of the time. i do this as well approaching corners regardless of wether i am taking the turning or going straight on, it helps to prevent drivers overtaking and then swinging in. it works for me
