I'm thinking of trying some bmx platform pedals on my bike* (it's a fixed steel framed track bike)*.
In the past I've tried MKS Sylvans and MKS GR-9s *(which I quite liked). *I'm currently using Specialized track pedals with double straps and metal cages, with the straps threaded through the pedals like below...
This pedal setup feels good and secure once your in. What i'm not so keen on is that I can't comfortably ride the bottom of the pedals when mucking about at low speed, plus any jumping isn't nice in soft soled Vans shoes.
I'd like to hear from anyone who's already riding bmx platform pedals with clips and/or straps. Do you have a nightmare with pedal strike (I'm running 165 cranks)?
These magnesium Wellgo MG-1s seem good for £30ish.
Maybe I'll carve some up like these!
