Indeed^^^, I love cycling through town, though suicidal down the Quays is quite fun.
For a relaxing cycle up the Navan road up to Blanchardstown. -

Out past dundrum to Enniskerry and up over SallyGap is a fave of mine :)

Coming from the top of Killiney hill through dun laoighre and blackrock into town on the coast road flying past cars in the morning

Would it be wrong to say 'anywhere flat'?
-
• #7
Nah not at all, thats usually what I go for, flat enough and lots of traffic hah.
I have a good climb up the old cabra road home. -
• #8
Phoenix Park is always nice. Mostly flat, couple of easy hills.

Phoenix park is nice actually and I don't ride there near enough!! Perfect for Saturday morning spin to clock some mileage!
There's some cool spots down around the docks on the SS, Hanover quay area down...

Actually have a serious longing to learn some tricks so I can do a trick photo session on Hanover quay some night, the lights down there would be unbelievable for it!!
-
• #11
Well I know some tricks.... plus I could borrow my Uncles Nikon d...something... class camera anyway, plus I can use it quite well.:P
-
• #12
What you reckon?? Could be very cool!! Camera's not a problem, just need to be able to do something worth photographing :D

You do that fixed?
Yup -the descents are fun!
Prefer it on the road bike, but sometimes you have to HTFU and take to the hills while fixed!

Go you, thats about 50k round. But if you are going to "cycle 50 k you want to peddle 50k". As for Hanover Quay, I was cycling through there the other night, the place is pretty cool and eery at night. What kind of 'tricks' are you thinking of doing? Peace

Ah nothing too crazy, just try and get my backward circles, wheelies etc. down smooth (by "get" down smooth I mean learn them...) Dublin TrixieDix maybe?

50k's nothing on a fixed really. I like to go out by Dalkey, up Killiney Hill and on to Greystones then back home to Donnybrook if I'm only going for a short one.
Otherwise I whip out the road bike and go longer, Jack Whites or Glendalough or somesuch.

Had a race with a guy on a GSXR1300 from Bolton Street to College Green the other day, beat him off the lights for a hundred metres or so but he got to the next set quicker, great buzz!! Heading over to Achill in two weeks and climbing Minaun fixed should be fun, coming back down brakeless however is going to be terrifying :D

What's your favourite ride in Dublin area??
Have to say I love cycling out the N11 to Foxrock from town between 4pm and 6pm, bombing past cars stuck in traffic is very satisfying!!
