  • hello lovely forum,

I have just rewritten my CV and would like someone with graphics skills to make it look the business...I can see good graphic design, I just can't make it happen myself!

As I'm currently 'between projects' I'm afraid I have no cash to give, however I can trade your skills for this lovely, brand new in box San Marco Regal (as picture) rrp £50. You can even send off the warranty if you feel the desire. It's a great looking saddle with copper coloured rivets and rails and black textured leather...

Or if there's something else I can do for you in return, or any other parts you want that you think I might have, just shout! Skillswapshop?

    thanks y'all.

  • mspaint skills ftw

  • yeah, MSPaint my CV!

  • mspaint skills ftw

This guy sucks! It's in his name!

I can rock the boat (CV) - you can give me it tomorrow if you want like.

  • I'll help you out... as long as this slow day continues! Typographic perfection, accessible layout, no frills kind of thing?

    An outdated portfolio of stuff:
    Jon Marshall

The copy's done right? Or do you want a copy writer involved too!

  • If no-one else dibs first, I would happily pimp out your CV for the saddle. Can do a selection of pimped out CV's in fact and then you can choose....assuming you've got the copy nailed right?

  • nice portfolio jono, very smooth.

  • can I have the saddle?

  • fuck me Mike, enter that for a D&AD award let alone the saddle!

  • can I have the saddle?

    nice fade skillz

  • wow, mike. Unbelievable effort!

the power of the PM has sent me a tall dark mystery graphic designer who has offered his services so I'm going to go with his help because I know his work.....thank you all for your offers though!

  • i dont mind doing it if your other options fall through. peace out

  • i'll do it for saddle + rest of bike!

  • now your problem is solved i'd like to hijack this thread a little.

how many of you actually add such 'design features' to your cvs?

currently updating mine and have always gone very basic, and indeed when recruiting staff would often be put off by overworked stylised cvs (although this could just be because of the work sector)

    you must be good ;)

gimmicky CVs can be off-putting and look a bit trying-too-hard. BUT a well laid document can make a huge difference to just your bog-standard word processed version.

  • Nothing should get in the way of reading your CV I reckon, any subjective stuff should be very subtle.

Jon's CV order of importance rule of thumb: Content, language, hierarchy/accessibility, layout, delivery format, style, imagery, poop.

  • although of course it depends on your sector...if you don't work in any visual/creative/blah industry probably don't bother because no-one will notice!

  • mike you're wasted in IT.

  • I would be happy to do it, if no one else has claimed doing it.

  • can i have the saddle?

    :d

    :)

  • the power of the PM

    Gordy sorts it out! yay!

The nation lives for another day!

  • i think a bit of nicely laid out type wont do anyone harm, its like feng shui for paper.

  • Just use helvetica. You will get every job! :)

  • not if you can't kern it
