You need to use cotton tape as you have to bend the tape back on it's self. Wrap with cork first then cotton halequin over the top if you want comfort. If you are worried about blisters on your hands HTFU or wear some gloves.

Nothing to do with me, just a quick google. Looks pretty cool, may give it a go next time i do mine. Cottons not abrasive, you need to go out and work on a road works crew miladdo!

yeah i saw that website, nice guide. i like how he didnt do the whole length of the bars, nice and classy.
i still dont fancy using cotton bartape, im too much of a fan of fizik to use anything else. is there no way i can jazz my bars up with some kind of fancy dan wrapping?

fizik has the two tone tape that ends up being subtle stripes. fizik dual tape.

met an old guy at my local the other eve with a lovely old geared holdsworth. it had cotton harlequin patterned bar tape. i was quite taken by it.
id like to do this myself, but i dont much fancy cotton tape, its hard and abrasive as hell.
can you do this with more common tape? anyone else have patterned bar tape?
