Sammy, A decent tube set, silver and paintjob will cost you between 300 and 400 pounds. Are you trying to say that the kind people at BJ work there for free out of a love for the company and that the shops are kind enough not to mark up the frames ??
I am not in any way trying to slag of BJ and the more expensive frames are made in the UK. Same story goes for a lot of other frame builders too including Mercian Condor and yes shock of all shocks even the CInelli steel models.
Don't forget the fact that a Taiwanees person can probably wield a torch just as well as the next British / Italian person.
People just want cheap bikes / frames and there is only one way of doing that. Look at all the commotion witcomb received when they jacked there prices up to a more realistic level.
If you still don't believe me go and ask Ross at Brixton cycles. He builds some excellent steel frames and is currently charging about 400 pounds for them. Unfortunatelly for him this includes everything but the 20 hours of labour he puts in.......
