polo bike any tall one?

Offered, one Peugeot Premiere frame.
Things that it comes with: Saddle (with original post (no inverse shim)), original handlebars, stem and forks, replacement brake levers as pictured (old but working, sprung, not integrated gear shifters, original crankset as pictured, old beaten SPD pedals as pictured (functioning but creaky), bottle cage, 3/32 chain (fairly new), original front brake.
Things that it does not come with: Wheels although I may consider it for the right price (front QR but loose on the cones, rear is flip flop on a cheapo Quando hub (allen bolt mount, has a little character).
Reason: Having bought this bike, kept it for ages, finally stripped it down and converted it, I've discovered that it's just not that comfortable for me. I'm 6'2 and the leg length is fine but the reach is short and a bit cramped for my style of riding. I'm going OTP if I can shift this frame.
Catch: I live in Swindon. Can do a free delivery to London or Bristol if you're not in a hurry and want to meet Souths, Centrals or Wests.
Accepting: reasonable offers of cash or other things I might need.
Hey you live in swindon. Whereabouts? do you ride fixed? Looking for people to ride with. I'm not desperate...... much ;)

Does make sense. Alas I am a bike size fool. My usual technique involves going to the bike shop and asking for a big one. I shall check Sheldon and do a measuring tonight. In the mean time, I'm 6'2 and it fits me legwise in the pictured configuration.

FFS, have a little patience. I am supposed to be working here.
I live in sunny Wootton Bassett and I will come riding with you.

I was messing. I work in Bassett.
Pretty non existant for fixed gear riding round here. I'll Pm you.
Also how much you looking for for the peugeot? I have a tall mate who might be interested.

I was looking for about £40 for the frame etc. I got it cheap on ebay and other than the wheels haven't spent much cash on it. Obviously the highest bidder wins. Mind you, a local sale/delivery wold be enticing.
I know what you mean about the absence of scene. I dropped into Red Panet for a few bits for my geared stuff and the owner doesn't think that anyone stocks OTP.

I'll offer £40 if unklesouth's friend doesn't come through. Might be able to organise collection from Swindon too, but won't know for sure if I can do it until this weekend (I'm in Brighton now but will be nearish Swindon for Christmas).

Ooh, bidding war, let the deathmatch begin.
Erm,
I mean I'll keep you informed.
-
• #11
Whats the current situation and whats the size of the frame ? I'll offer £40 willing to go higher, can collect from London.

Thats the frame i ride, buy yours is in much better condition.

Current situation:
I was delayed on getting the sizing due to celebrating gf's birthday. I'm waiting to see how serious unklesouth's mate is before considering other offers. Apparently I might be a bit lazy.

Bike size, from the middle of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube is about 62cm.
Unklesouth's mate has effectively withdrawn from the bidding, leaving shinobi and Andoh offering about £40 each.
Just an aside, I have some flat pedals that I can switch the SPDs for if you don't ride cleated.

I was just given a Claud Butler frame so I'm going to withdraw as well and leave it to Andoh. Sorry!

im 5 ft 8, not good for the girth :(

Potential interest from a forumite in Reading but still up for consideration. Go on, it'll be cold, wet and icy outside until May and you could do with a little project. Perhaps you could build that wheel you've always been thinking about.
-
• #18
if only you were selling separates. I have that exact frame and could do with that awkward 24.8 seatpost!
-
• #19
I think that Decathlon do something just a bit smaller that is supposed to work or do a search for inverse shim for using larger posts.
-
• #20
What would you consider to be a resonable offer for the wheels?
i'm desperate for a flip flop rear wheel
-
• #21
Not really. The cones and bearings on the front are shot so I couldn't in all good concience sell it to anyone. The rear was a present from the gf and I'm not going to part with it because I'm a sentimental twat who shouldn't be so fucking greedy.
Have you seen the white lightening on ebay. Expensive but oh so very tasty.
