Did almost exactly this holiday about 10 years ago so take what I say with a pinch of salt...
Flw to cheapest place in Italy (can't remember we went offhand) & then got train to Rimini. Trains in Italy are good & cheap. Rimini is cool but weird. Lots of clubs but v Italian - you have to get a (free) bus to the clubs which are incredible but nothing like UK - hardly any of the Italians drink & anything else was hard to get hold of. Still a great place though & definitely not brits abroad.
From there you can get a ferry to Split . OMG. Seriously the fittest women on the planet. We were walking into lampposts. Also definitely not sleazy = not sure if that's good or bad for you.
From there you can easily get to the islands - we went to Hvar which was also great. Beware though - Croatia was not as cheap as we thought it would be & Hvar was pretty up-market. We managed to room with a Croateon family who were really cool & maybe that kind of thing still happens. This was quite soon after the war so tourism was quite down.
All in all I'd say go for it but it was pricier than expected - PM me if you want any more info. Again - women in Split were outrageously beautiful - angels on earth.
Right, me and a few mates are currently planning a holiday to europe next summer for minimum of a week.
Not an awful lot of money to spend, so keep this in mind!
We basically want a balance of beaches, bars, cheap beer, and ladies.
I guess we'll have to stay in hostels to keep the price down.
But let me make it clear that we dont want to go to some ibiza/magaluf type shit hole!
Weve been thinking about split in croatia for a few days then staying on one of the bigger islands but no one can quite make a decision!
where do you guys suggest, we wont be taking our bikes, it will be more of a "partying" holiday as it were.
thanks for any help!
