White spirit isn't good for paintwork so you can only really use it of you remove the chain from the bike. Also, it's pretty damaging environmentally so a citrus based degreaser like Finish Line is better.
I've only tried a Park Tool chain cleaner on a fixed drive train and it really doesn't work. I just remove the chain and soak it in degreaser now.
