Did you only buy a front brake? If you have a rear with a shorter bolt, you can screw this through the front part of the fork only and this will work without drilling the fork...

Just what Pifco said, the hole at the rear needs to be enlarged to accept the allen bolt. Use an 8mm HSS drill bit thats sharp, perhaps some cooling paste if you love your forks and want the hole nice and clean and a drill at a slow/mid speed. Trusting they are steel.

Glad it's just the front - I knackered a rear brake bridge drilling out for allen bolt brakes. That was before I started getting advice from internet forums... ;)
HI Guys i just bought a shimano front brake caliper and the brake bolt is short so that the fixing nut goes into the forks for a neat look, however my fork s brake bolt hole is not wide enough to accept the neat bolt end and the brake bolt not long enough to pretrude to allow a normal nut setup.
is anyone else had this problem. know of any solutions or know if alternative brands work/wont work
