I'd PM'd this to jonny and VB, but after speaking to jonny today, he reckoned it was worth putting in the public domain. I found the info buried away on another forum, and present you with a tarted up version.
Probably superfluous info, but...
I just bought the item in the top right of this picture (item ref: HF29G).
I got it from Maplins on High Holborn, and it stung a bit at the princely sum of 79p.
Why? If you were doing a looooong ride, and were carrying 4 spare AAs for your Hope light, you can stick them in this, and then just swap over the battery packs. Bit less faffy, that's all.
It works, despite the prongs for a pp3/pp9 (?) battery, and I've just stuck on a little square of handlebar tape (like the foam patch on the Hope one) to make a snug fit.
How boring was that?
