it's useless because student who go to St Martins use the bike rack a lots, during the university term, it's almost always full.
I asked them where can the student locked their bike, they just point to the other bike rack on the other side of the road and the one near Cycle Surgery.
problem is, those rack are frequency used, add CSM students, and there won´t be enough room.

Wow, that's really bad. They should have at least put notices up a few weeks beforehand. I hope no one has anything stolen.

i might whip down there pick myself up a new bike ;)

What's also ridiculous that any cycle racks are being removed, in whatever manner.
Unless Central are putting even more, newer, better ones in their place ...

There is going to be a lots of surprised CSM student when Monday come...
-

That is absolutely insane, leaving other peoples property up for grabs, unbelievable.

Do you know if they left notes for the bike owners? If they left plenty of notice (like they did with us at Broadgate) then the bikes might very well be 'abandoned' anyway.

My girlfriend go to CSM, she hasn't heard anything about it for the past few months, and while they were removing the bicycles rack, they finally decided put up notes against a lamp post that was close to the bike rack.
at least that what it look like, was in too much of a hurry to have a proper butcher.

Broadgate chop old locks once a year and left loads of flyers to that effect on all the locks.
Just thought maybe CSM might have done similar. -

Oh I hear you, it's really fucking annoying now that I managed to help my girlfriend to feel more compelled on riding her new bike, and now they went and fucking removed the rack.

I know how you feel. You can find a thread on here with me ranting about losing my bike spot..

I'll have a look later if flying through and will bring along any spare locks (plus pen and paper) to secure any bikes that may be left... I suggest other forum members do the same (if feeling kind) as this would royally piss me off.

hmm I think I left my nag locked up there, anyone else have there bike locked up there?, wonder if they will replace it

this is shitty

I lock my bike to this tramp in St John's Place. Of course to stop him walking away or removing the lock, I booted him to death first. If you live/work in an area low on vagrants, it works with pensioners and students, too.

Hmmm,... I'm sparticus...
Er... I mean I left my bike chained up there and I'm certain it's gone now... heads will roll :-)

I've noticed a few places where bike rails have been removed. Leads to a confused few minutes thinking you've gone daft, sure that you locked you bike there just the other week, angry that you've got to find another... all very frustrating, but don't worry, I'm off to Bike Radar now...

I know CSM are moving location in a few year but surely this is a bit premature...

I was quite annoyed on my first ride back in London since before christmas (today) to find that the railings alongside Waterloo station (leading up to the Imax) have been completely removed..
Whenever I've had to go on a trip from that station (quite a lot when playing rugby) and had to leave my bike there I've felt that it's at least slightly safer as you'd have to be insane to attempt nicking a bike with hundreds of people buzzing around..
The only other place near there that's comparable is the evans over the road who have about 3 of those upside down U things that are always being used.. Now I'll either have to park up down the road (or even over Waterloo Bridge) outside my uni or round the back of the station where hardly anyone ever walks :(

I'm a CSM student at charing cross road, but I lock my bike up for lectures some days outside southampton row. I'm going to wheel my bike up the steps and into the building and have a massive row with anyone who tells me to take it outside.

Just realised where you guys are talking about and I've locked up there in the past.. Can't believe they're taking it down.. It'll just be another massive empty space on the path
-

just add an updated about what going to happen.
now there's less than half a dozen of bike left, think the rest of them has got nicked by now.

Platform 7? I think it's 7, might be 9...
I just cycle past CSM (Theobald Road) and the council is removing all of the bike rack (st martin want them removed for some strange reason).
right now there´s a dozen of unlocked bike just leading against the railing as well as bicycles lock that was left there.
if your bike is currenly locked up outside CSM, go get them before it get stolen.
CSM - central saint martin.
**EDIT
**Just got some more information, they're removing the bicycles rack in order to gain access underground to do some work, between Feburary to March 2009.
