Car appreciation... the aesthetics, the engineering, etc

anyway, i actually came on because i found a 1998 996 for sale for under 12K - is this the car bargain of the year? (ok, it's high mileage but porsche design their cars to be daily drivers - service intervals of 18K, IIRC) i'm actually tempted by this myself, even although i'm now carless:
