Far too expensive to risk getting twated with a mallet. Would play on an old beater though. How may play fixed? Just Adam?

fixed= adam, james (when he plays- v.v.v.v. rare), me when i sort a bike i don't mind getting twatted out, mirek plays sometimes fixed sometimes mtb
alot of people play on mtb cos they're a bit tougher and can take a few knocks- the components such as cranks etc are built to take knocks. some people play on s/s mtb's...my muddy fox does a pretty good job. I reckon if i were to fix that it would be perfect

too much work to do today - ill definately come next week though

nes - I've been looking everywhere for info on 'what is a polo ball' or where I can get one but no luck! I've got oodles of spare time over christmas so was hoping to get a ball and make a mallet and have a practice before you start up again in January. Any ideas where I can get a ball from?
-
• #11
OK, rik pm'd me about balls from Decathlon by Frankiln so I'm gonna swing by there this weekend for a look and after reading the page making a polo mallet I'm thinking of buying some of this nylon piping , so if anyone's interested let me know and I'll order a longer length and we can split the cost.

i was going to make a mallet in the new year, so would chip in or attend a making session.

Bugger! I was just about to order 500mm of tubing; enough for 3 I guess but with the postage it's expensive - £28. Gonna have a rethink.

i have some gas piping prob enough for about 3 heads, i will bring it to the first polo of the new year for people, just keep a look out it is lying around at loads of road works theres yellow and blue
edit: also decathlon sell 2 skipoles for 6.95 the gray and silver ones so you can make a mallet for like £3.50

I've trawled Manchester looking for pipe over the last couple of days: no joy! If you're there on the Thursday I'd be more than happy to take a bit of that. I got the ski poles from Decathlon - well cheap. Just looking for a frame now otherwise I'm gonna have to turn up on my old beater road bike.

Jim
Just to let you all know we have started playing polo on Thursdays again instead of Sundays.
Everyone is welcome to come along on a Thursday at 7pm at Platt Fields Park- we play in the BBall courts.
Bring a bike you don't mind getting whacked with a mallet and a mallet if you have one, if not you can borrow.
We are starting to pick and play in teams so we're ready for the tournaments next year so now is a good time to start playing.
Text me on 07530780383 before 6pm to let me know you're coming and I'll text back to let you know it's on or not (esp if it's thrashing it down)
