I imagine that spending £1000 on your son's bike makes him spoiled, whatever that makes you.
I should add, I am currently in the process of raising a spoilt brat of a son, he's only 4 right now. I know I would be tempted, if he showed any interest in being into something I am into, to do excactly the same as you.
