  • 'radial laced for extra strength'?

  • they are dr chans. love that rodger haydock

  • hahaha... i know i know...

various reasons for radial... it can build into stiffer wheel - but that depends on builder of course
i was told many many years ago that its can help prevent to much damage to your hub/frame in case of a head on...

thens theres the aesthetics of course...

the alcorn hubs are a nice idea - really light, but bear in mind they were prototypes. there are only two in existence to my knowledge - clodge grabbed both from the maker, used a pair which he sold onto gbh, lil chris got the other pair for cgs and then passed them onto james at hh
fabricated locally in mcr, by a small machinist as a project.
cgs were gonna get a load and after testing we had the following conclusions...
the bearing housing wasnt that well machined - bearing wouldnt seat correctly
the spoke drilling on our pair wasnt that accurate - luckily we had obi wan guy build them...
4mm ak bolt seemed a little small for fastening a hub...
we might have got the first pair made - so cant fairly comment on quality of the ones on ebay

  • oh, if theyre doctor chans gonna edit the above...

    was langstar from gbh???

  • oh i like 'langstar'

    they should rebrand.

what's the deal with the bike polo thing tomorrow night? are people braving the cold?

  • well i normal call it the wrongstar but its a new year and i'm trying to be less of a c*nt

that could all change. ny's resolutions are overated

no polo for me. getting drunk in jb's whilst i wait for my train from doncaster

  • yeah i am pretty sure that langster used to be hanging in gbh.

i might come out to polo tomorrow, never played before though

  • mind that ankle of yours nice chris. its as fragile as my newly found virginity

must not buy bike to brake up for parts from dr chan

mebbe chloe might be up for it... she could trash her own bike instead of everyone else's

  • Both mine, fucked up big time so need to sell them. The langster was bought from James @GBH complete with Alcorn hubs

  • oh and btw polo is for queers ;)

  • what price are you looking for the haydock. i am tempted

  • what price are you looking for the haydock. i am tempted

You mean just frame and fork? Or complete

  • yeah, just the frame and fork.

got a bin in mind for the langster? - i think chloe might take it off you... i can give here a bell if you want or get her to see you at pub on friday...

I'll have a word with her on Friday then. I'm all sorted for a frame at the moment, I've got adams bob jackson built up

  • i'll tell her to get a wiggle on down

  • Those forks on the Haydock are pretty sweet.

  • @dr c - chloe would like to check out the wrongstar - i've suggested friday evening - if this is good for you where and when?

  • arg was watching that haydock on ebay -
Dr C, if nice chris doesnt take it 2nd dibs (what price u looking for with everything except the wheels?)

  • Nasty - I need a small frame for my missus, about 49cm ,maybe a little smaller, got anything knocking about??

  • sorry, nothing smaller than a 53...

velodrome jumble in a couple of weeks - try there...

you gonna do the right thing and get that concept on the boards this year and stop riding it like its a hairdressers bike? i can lend you some pink track drops if youre worried about colour scheme...

  • yup, I'm well up for having a go round the track. Can you just tip up on a saturday with your own bike and give it a go?

  • no - you have to book taster sesssion in advance. last i heard they were booked up till after january

your bike must have drops and tyres in good condition - no cuts or embedded glass, clean etc...

might be worth seeing if ness gets a private session booked like last year...
