I really like my DHB Amberley gloves.
I've only had a teeny bit of a cold thumb on the coldest days in so far, easily wamred up by wiggling my fingers when I get to the lights.
for some reason I seem to have really long thumbs and always have trouble with the tip of my thumbs going numb from being pressed into the end of the glove - these are the best I've used for winter though.
Also seem to be properly waterproof.
