it's depending really, the frame play a huge factor in this, some people brought a frame costing less than £200, and some got their hand made costing £500.

My parts are more than my frame at the moment.. But I bought with the intention of upgrading that (amongst other things) at some point..

1+, until I reach to the point where I only need to simply swap the frame, hopefully get an nice italian track frame.

Parts are worth considerably more than the frame, but then I got an absolute bargain on the frame! :) I reckon using your calculations my ratio is about 22/26/30/22 -drivechain being most expensive (mmmm sugino 75), and a lot on extras (but that's cos I went for a Brooks Swallow!)

I reckon I fit that 40/20/20/20. Pretty well.
Ideally, should have spent a bit less on the drive chain (I mean its fixed ffs) and a bit more on the wheelset.
My next build is all the place though.
Might be 20/30/20/30 (damn those flashy hubs and sexy carbon components)

if all bits were bought new at rrp it is about 30/50/10/10

My daily commute is something like:
70/20/8/2
frame custom-built last spring, cheap sucky winter-wheels, most other parts dumpstered behind bikeshops, or swapped for with dumpstered parts)
In it's summer setup it's actually cheaper wheel-wise, since the only part I payed for was the rear-hub, front wheel (Shamal) is dumpstered and so is the spokes (new ones) and the rear rim (CXP14) ;)I have a Vivalo as well, though I'm thinking about selling the frame, that would be something like
50/20/15/15And last but not least I have that planet x track-thing, that would be something like
50/25/15/10 I guess.. -

What is the price ratio of frame to parts that most people spend on their bicycle normally? Say in the format of Frame/Wheelset/Drivetrain/Everything else. I've only had an otp, but I'd guess something like 40/20/20/20% ?
