Newhaven Dieppe ftw. London to Newhaven, easy day's ride. Board ferry late afternoon. Eat supper. Arrive Dieppe late evening. Hotel and off first thing in morning. Should be in Paris late that night, or at worst after one night stop.
French cycle paths are wonderful. In the west, on the coast near Bordeaux, it is possible to cycle for hours without seeing even another cyclist. Wide, beautifully maintained paths. Drinking water fountains.
