im not sure how comfy that would be though, but astheticly its obviosly nice.
looks light as hell too

Comfy? It'll probably be like sitting on the flat of a kitchen knife. But it is so fucking sweet to look at, and probably weighs less than air. Whilst I am in no way a weight freak, I'm using it's lightness to justify owning it. It will complete my bike.
Needs a specialist seatpost too. Oh well! The main problem is mounting up. You have to be pretty precise unless you want a surprise rectal exam.

I think you're right Ed. I'm going to wear it in. A well worn in brooks saddle is a saddle for life (as my father will attest. 40 years!), so even if it's not a perfect look for my bike, it'll be a joy to ride when it's broken. And who knows what frames I might pick up in the future.
Whatever, I should get over the whole "look" aspect and just ride the damn thing.exactly, and a matching brooks leather bar tape won´t cost much compared to the saddle.

Jeez if I had someone in my life who'd buy me a ti swallow for Crimble! All I got bike related was some ffing knogs (what did my dad think I was doing, riding round without lights?!) You lucky sod, Mechmorgan.

At the time I would be inclined to agree with you, now I'm about 100 miles into breaking it in, I'm sorely tempted to throw the fucking thing away. Jesus christ I feel like I'm someones prison wife.

After seeing my new saddle my father went into his garage/workshop and chopped, chamfered and laced his old B17 down. The saddles are now basically the same, apart from the rails, it's a pain!
My swallow is super super comfy now, little bit of proofride works wonders. As does sitting on cold cushions after a ride. Ouch.

Na, your swallow is still better :) The B17 is wider, even when cut and laced (indeed, I have one myself), but the swallow is a slightly better profile imo

A B17narrow is the same width cantle-plate though, so chopping one of those is pretty much the same thing as a swallow.
The Team Pro's in between the two widths. They're loveliest chopped cos of the big rivets.

Sorry, I was referring to the B17 Standard -I knew the narrow was the same width, they just seem harder to find than the standard.
Agreed 100% on the team pro -a well chopped one of them is (almost) nicer than a Swallow!
besides, they're pretty fuckin comfy, and more to the point no on can see what saddle youve got when your sittin on it
