tynan: "Your racism sickens me."
tynan, if you are not joking, please, pretty please, explain the link between racism and idiocy.
There tends to be a larger incident of racist views amongst the intellectually challenged.
tis a true idiot that tries to repair verbal mistakes with grammatical blunders and foolishness. plato.

Yes, tynan, explain yourself! You have been a thorn in the side of this peace loving and respectful forum for far too long.
stephen: tynan is a troll. Just look at his post history!
Fight, fight, fight!
Mr Chicken, you have never liked me since your series of, quite frankly, pornographic private messages were rejected by me, I was not interested in you sexually then, nor am I now.

I accept that we all have a tendancy to want to brush "raspberries" under the carpet and to hide them from view and not to let the kids see them but since I've met some people with missing limbs who cycle, I have to say that the sight of them inspires me rather than horrifies me. There is one chap in RP who lost his leg when he was "articked". Apparently became very depressed as one can understand, until his wife told him to get out on his bike. And now he does. We could, each one of us, lose a limb tomorrow, out on the roads. It is good to know that there might be hope after that happened. Strangely, knowing that gives me more confidence when cycling.

Is there nowhere we 'normals' can go without having to put up with this kind of outrage ?

Tynan, take your hatred somewhere else. This forum is for upstanding bigots only!
As for the "porn" accusations, they were sent in error, and you know that. They were meant for my wife, who is also on this forum under the name "tynbn". An easy mistake to make.

Why should we not want kids to see them,
Seeing these 'things' with their hunched backs and single centred eyes dragging their largely ornamental limbs behind them as they crawl up the hill to the supermarket is not good for the mental well being of the children, that much is obvious.
Let's say, for instance, that you are on the way to see the comic performer Jim Davidson on a bank holiday weekend - with your kids in the back seat of your car - and they see a 'disabled' strapped onto a bike by some good meaning liberal (probably a homosexual or an immigrant) - they are hardly going to simply ignore what they have just seen are they now ? They will most likely be upset, probably start to cry and who knows of the long term damage to their impressionable young minds ? Do you really think that is a good idea ?
it's only the act of shielding kids from it that makes it distressing and/or taboo. It's only a big deal if you make it one. FFS
So you are saying we should wilfully expose our children to the diseases these people carry ?

It was less the 'creative writing' that upset me, but the disturbingly high resolution photographs.

Sadly Gary Glitter does - all too often. Let's leave children out of it for a while shall we?

Imperialist.
You just want to keep everyone in their little boxes, too scared to see other people grow and develop, well you can keep your small minded xenophobia off this forum.

u post this and yet u wish to hide the truth from children? surely children should be made aware some individuals are less fortunate in order to grow and develop? i think your children will be in these "little boxes" u speak of...

I didn't say we should hide the truth from the children, that is not what I am saying, I think it is fine for them to learn about the disableds and the mental people, that is not the problem.
I am just saying children shouldn't be exposed to them unnecessarily, after all do you want your children to catch the disease that turned these people mental or made their legs fall off in the first place ?
It's just simple common sense.
surely children should be made aware some individuals are less fortunate in order to grow and develop?
Why ? So the children can laugh and mock the mental/disabled people ?
Of course it's all a matter of choice, I am not forcing anything on you, if you want to take your children up to the caves where these people live - so you can all throw fruit and laugh at them then that is your choice.
i think your children will be in these "little boxes" u speak of...
Not at all, I have four children and I have taught each one of them about these 'things' they sometimes see wheeling about in the street, either under their own one legged power or perhaps in an electric cart of some form, my children all know what these things are. It is not as if I lack compassion or empathy, I have taught them that these things are human just like us, that they have feelings like normal people - and also feel pain, the same as if you stabbed a monkey with a pen - ***but . . . *** that doesn't automatically mean I want them staring in to my £40k car at the traffic lights, discharging various foul smelling liquids and gases (or whatever they do) to spread diseases and so on.
Like, I say, simple common sense.
I pay a lot of money every year in taxes so we can build good prisons and secure hospitals - and yet I am still regularly greeted at the traffic lights by the sight of some one legged (and often single eyed) cyclist, and you are telling me this is right ?
I agree but what if he doesnt have a right hand?
