i saw it. he's a pretty amazing guy who would outride most of the people on this forum (myself included).

tynan,
a bit supprised with your attitude, these people have a hard enough time without fools like you making it harder for them......It is they who make it harder for themselves by roaming the streets as if nothing was wrong.
they are such a minority, the financial side is irrelevent.
It may be irrelevant to you, but every penny we spend - on some bone-idle spazzy who is not content with the perfectly good wheelchair he has - is money we could have spent on 'our boys' out in Iraq and Afghanistan.

There's a South American guy who works at that South American community shopping centre in Seven Sisters who only has one leg. I can't remember his name, but apparently he's a really strong rider who does Continental Pro (? or similarly high level) races in South America.

this was meant a joke, right? A bad one though. just think for a second you get hit by a truck and loose a leg (as it almost happened to some people on this forum) Would you stop riding if there was a chance you still could?
No, I would not, the last thing a family needs to see, when for instance leaving church on Sunday, is me dragging my hideously disfigured shape passed them on a bicycle.
There are plenty of decent television quiz shows and board games these people could play, or maybe get someone to go out and get them a magazine.

These amputee riders are absolute legends every time I see one I wanna shake their hand (then I realise im a patronising wanker). As Cliveo said there are a couple of pretty strong one legger riders often to be seen in Richmond park.
There is also some messenger looking fellow who I often see pelting along whitechapel road with only one arm. I came up to him at the lights once and really wanted to shake his hand.. hmm maybee not.
BTW: Germans only ever laugh at fart jokes

tynan, if you are not joking, please, pretty please, explain the link between racism and idiocy. tis a true idiot that tries to repair verbal mistakes with grammatical blunders and foolishness. plato. -

Yes, tynan, explain yourself! You have been a thorn in the side of this peace loving and respectful forum for far too long.
stephen: tynan is a troll. Just look at his post history!
Fight, fight, fight!

Tynan's post made me sick: so sick, in fact that I puked up my left leg, literally turning it inside out and showering fragments of bone all over the keyboard. Now I only have one leg and an unsightly hole where it used to be. If anyone knows how to get in touch with these one-legged riders can they let me know as I have to cycle in to work tomorrow and haven't a clue how to go about it with just the one leg.

Why not? Chances are that he would see it as a perfectly normal greeting. Try to watch out for signs from him that it makes him uncomfortable and if you don't see any, he probably doesn't see anything wrong with being touched in greeting in this way. It can often be the awkwardness of people who feel apprehensive about physical disabilities that is more inappropriate. A greeting can bridge a divide between us, there's a reason why such gestures exist, and they don't necessarily change just because someone has a visible physical disability. Disabled people are still people who understand life in much the same way that we all do.

Good point. But what about disabled scousers? Does a higher power kick in so that only they among their ilk understand life as do the rest of us?

whatever.
do you expect proper grammar from someone who (only) laughs at fart jokes?
he doesn't need that, as Tynans very funny post wasn't sarcastic in any way.
