If someone is willing to aquire an oxy acetylene setup for brazing its a piece of piss putting something together.
Professional framebuilding is a skilled craft in being neat & tidy and precise. For DIY tall bikes if someone has access to gear/workshop anyone could do it.

Yep, it doesn't have to look good. If it can be done by brazing, Mike (El Diablo) or Graham (Guinea Pig) may be able to help.

Texted Graham and he says that he has brazing equipment that we can use, so now we need old bike frames. Anyone?

I can get frames in all shapes 'n' sizes as there's a bike recycling place in Coventry
I'm well up for building, might have to wait a bit for the jousting. -

if anyone knows anyone in leicester or can be bothered to go out themselves I think there's a bike co-op there. Otherwise it's always a good bet to check out bike locking areas in train stations and ask the staff whether any of the bikes have been there for fucking ages - contact the council and reclaim!

am I right that extra piping will be needed for the head tube and the fork steerer tube? These have to be brazed on,rear triangle cut off one frame and then the bb shell brazed to the top tube/ top of seat tube?

Theres no standard design, well just figure it out when we get the bits. Extra tubing can be chopped out of broken frames.

Also plenty of old frames over at action21 in Leamington (at the tip).
After talking to Chris, I am definitely up for making tallbikes and generally starting the Dans La Rue bike gang. My uncle may know a guy that can tig weld, which he thinks would be better than arc welding. If this does happen, it's going to take a lot of time, effort and probably a bit of cashmoney, but it will definitely be worth it. Is anyone else properly up for this and if so, what should we do next? Have a meeting of all the people who are interested?
